I had problems with them not opening but I still recovered the game. I know the weathered blades do not open as good. I only use fixed blades now. If you have any doubt then go fixed blade. They are always open and work everytime.

I have used spitfires for the last 5 seasons and killed over 20 deer with them with no problems. Great blood trails and no penetration problems. I just got back from Saskatchewan last month were I killed a 500lb black bear. The spitfire went through the bear on a quartering away shot and stuck out the far shoulder. The bear did not go 40 yards.

I did not like my Spitfire 100's. They did not seem to be very durable blades. One busted off in the shoulder blade of a raccoon. I did take a doe with one but it didn't boost my confidence. After reading 5shots' reviews of broadheads I switched to Snyper 100's. I am much happier with the overall quality, sharpness of blades, durability, and ease of opening of the Synpers.

Just my opinion, many others seem happy with their Spitfires, I wasn't though.

I love them because they dont have rubber bands, i have never lost a deer with the spit fire 100gr, now they have 3 blades instead of the two blade, you get what you pay for.

I HAVE USED SPITFIRES EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE LAST 6 OR 7 YEARS. I HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM OR HAVE I LOST A DEER. ( ALL HAVE DROPPED WITHIN 50 YARDS). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

I used spitfires and they worked. they got expensive. I switched to the shockwave and they have worked really well. Blood trials are heavy when the arrow is placed where it belongs.

I hunt with alot of spitfire users and they seem to work for them but I personally prefer rocket heads. They do open easy and penetrate like crazy. Oh and the blades are designed to bend when hitting bone and continue through the animal creating an all important exit wound. I've had the best luck with sidewinders and miniblaster 4L. If I were to shoot nap heads I'd choose the shockwave over the spitfire.

Spitfires here too. 6 deer with em , along with several turkeys. They'll be in my quiver again this year. Mine have always opened upon entry , always with a large hole.
