Another vote for thermacell. I tie mine onto my stand.

My thermacell does work great, but they DO have an odor.

Shish,

A Therma cell is a small (Slightly bigger than an old cell phone) deal that runs on a special sixed propane bottle. It has a small 'card" that you stick in it and the thing creates a bug free bubble of about 10'. Works great, I also like No Stinkin Bugs and a Bug Tamer Suit.

Where do you guys put the thermacel while on stand?
I've fashioned a metal coat hanger into two loops that I hang directly under my seat and away from my feet. The instruction say to lay it flat and this was the best I could come up with. I just leave the wire on each of my hangons and also on my climber.

I also love my thermocell, works great here in Michigan. With all the rain we had in May, the skeeters were THICK, and my thermocell worked great!

The only problem with using thermacell is that it will not help with ticks, which carry lyme disease and Rocky Mtn Spotted Fever. I think the permanone spray is a good all inclusive unscented solution
