Doinker vs. Stealth
 

Which stabilizer would be best suited for my new Q2? I have heard both are pretty good stabilizers, but was wondering if one is better mor my setup and what size?

Stabilizers are more of a personal preference. Do you like your bow to fall forward or just sit there after the shot? The only way to tell is to try a few different ones and get the one that works best for your style of shooting. Having said that, I opted for the 6" Stealth. Works great for me. :) Good luck.

I shot a Doinker D2 7" but opted to put a Doinker D2 Plus Shorty hunter, 4" on. lighter, but it stills takes away alot of hand shock and vibration. Doinker all the way...

I have used both the 7" Doinker and a 4" Stealth, and the Stealth removes more shock and vibration along with noise than the Doinker. The Doinker is a nice stabilizer, but the Stealth is more versatile as it can be reversed to get a better balance. Along with that, buying a Stealth will mean that you are supporting one HECK OF A NICE GUY. Jerry (the owner) actually visits these boards and he has turned out to be a pretty good friend of mine and we talk regularly.

I tested a few length Doinkers Vs. their Stealth counterparts, and while the Doinker was a good stabilizer (used one for an entire season) there was little comparison to the Stealths with respect to noise and vibration reduction.
One thing of note about the Doinkers that I did find........that active motion style that Doinker uses performed better on the more radical single cam bows I've owned, I'm pretty sure due mostly to the upward thrust/ recoil pattern they exhibit. That up and down motion of the Doinker counteracted that movement better than it did on Dual or Hybrid styles.
All that said the Stealth was still better on EVERY bow I tested.;)
THAT said the Doinker is a good stabilizer and decent fit to a Q2 style bow.
If you choose a Stealth, probably a 6" Hunter would be a good fit, but ask Jerry as I'm sure he knows which model Q2 shooters have been using.

I have not tested any of the MultiRod Doinker styles yet but plan to just for comparisons sake to my preferred Stealth models.......whenever I get my hands on one.

I can't speak for the Doinker but the Stealth does a d@mn fine job on my Patriot.

Both are good stabilizers and if you have the opportunity to try both, do it. As Matt alluded, what works good on one brand/model of bow may not be as good on another. I shoot a Hoyt Ultratec Cam & .5, and feel a Doinker does a better job on my bow than a Stealth does. Stealth stabilizers seem to be real popular with Bowtech shooters. Hopefully some Mathews shooters will chime in on what works for them. I picked up a 7" D2 Multirod Doinker from the classifieds really cheap and feel it is the cream of the crop in the Doinker line. BTW, every time one of these threads comes up I'll pull my Stealth out of the drawer and compare it to the Doinker, just to make sure I'm not missing something. In the end, the Doinker stays on the bow.
