How many bucks do you pass up??
 

In an average year, I will pass up 10-20. mostly little bucks, a couple 2-3 yr olds.

I've only actually shot at 3 bucks in the past 5 seasons, killed all 3 - a 132" in 1999, a 124" in 2001 and then a 140" in 2002. Only saw 1 "shooter" buck last year, but he was a MONSTER, 160 class, biggest buck I've EVER seen. Just didn't get close enough:( .So, that's the way it is where I hunt in Eastern Oklahoma. I have iced about 20 does in that time, however. Shooting does helps with my "backstrapitis"

5 to 10 each hunt anywhere from small to 140 class.

I just pass up the ones that arnt legal to shoot. This year I can only shoot 6 pt . or above.

Last year I passed up about 15 +/- bucks. Took a shot at a 8 point, I missed but the neighbor got later in the season, turned out to be 4 1/2 years old. That was the only shot I took bowhunting.

Typically, I'll pass on 20-30 shots a year. Our property has an 8pt rule so we let a lot of scrub bucks go.

I guess I usually pass about 15-25 shots a year at small bucks. Unless it is big enough to mount, I'm not shooting it. I'd rather shoot a doe or two or three.

Passed on a couple of dandys last year waiting for 1 particular big buck that my friend and I had been scouting since early September. That buck was shot on someone else's property in Mid November. I won't be making that mistake this year!

Last fall I passed up 7 or 8 small bucks. I never did get a shot at anything with a good rack but I got a doe for the freezer.

Last year I passed up 6. 5 were small 1.5 year olds and one was a fair 8 2.5 year old. I think many of them are still there. I will post a couple of pictures from last friday soon.:D

I'd say on an average year maybe 10 or so. Large does I won't pass on though if I have a good shot.

I've been bowhunting for over 20 years, and until about 3-4 years ago I would have never dreamed of passing up a buck.

Our farm in in WV, and we're really trying to practice QDM as much as possible on our 400+ acres. We've only taken 2 bucks and about 20 does off our property in the PAST 2 YEARS...TOTAL SEASONS. That's gun/bow...everything.

Last year I passed a few that were 4-6pt range, and several spikes.

By the way...we are now seeing a lot more bucks. What a shocker...LOL

I pass on probably 30 to 40 bucks a season not counting yearling bucks. i normally hold out for 8 point or better 4to 5 years old and 140 class or bigger

I personally have a 6pt rule that I follow, I hunt a lot of public land so I pass up a lot of small bucks. One day last year during the first week of November I passed up 7 bucks in a morning, all spikes and fork horns, the 8th buck was a 7pt and he came home with me. If I would have shot the first one I saw, I would have missed a lot of action and excitment.

As many as it takes! I usually pass up at least 10 a year, but last year was a bad year for me. I only passed on one, didn't get a shot at two that I would have passed on and then arrowed a whopper. This year I imagine I'll be passing on 10-15 like normal years.

It varies. I have had a few suicidal bucks show up repeatedly that begged me to shoot them. On an average year, I'll pass around 10 - 15 little bucks.

Wow you guys pass on a lot of bucks. I don't think I'd get 20 shots at bucks all season letting them all pass. Last year I shot the 8th buck past me. Number 9 walked by after I shot mine. I had seen 17 bucks bucks up to that point.

o to 80 crippled or crazy if they walk past me there going down ,,, i hunt all public land and if i dont take it someone else will. im not a horn hunter last i checked only chinness eat the horns,maybe if i was as lucky as some of you with 400 acers to hunt on i would pass alot of deer but until then if it comes past me in the thicket im gonna stickit
