Horn tagger:according to your calculations it shows that a higher percentage of deer will move more from dawn to noon in 04-and last year in 03 it was more deer movement in the evening's.........do u think that is becuase of the more numbers of deer this year than last?

So are you predicting this year's movement based on last year's sightings? If so why did the number's go up to 460 this year? Can you explain the chart a little? like what all it's suppose to tell us and how you gathered the info? Thanks

cpahunter, I do not believe in the moon guides, charts etc that predict the best time of day. Plus sometimes they predict the best time to be 2:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. that time is only good for the no so legal individuals.

I only stray a little with time of day and that is only when the moon is bright and in the sky as the sun comes up will extend feeding hours because on no dark to light transition.

I deal with days of the week or weeks of the month. Only because of the amount of light.

quarter moon phases in my numbers are the best days to hunt but typically allows for more extend light.

Deer under my research move every day but have over 5 years move more on quarter phase moons 70% of the time over the 30% of the time for full and new moon phases.

turkey fan I am confused. Sorry I not sure I understand. The number of viewed deer increase by 143 in 04 but the % did not change.

Based on 460 at the end of 04 - Whitetail Deer - based off 9 years of personal observation records and 5 years of photo’s from surveillance camera and other resources.

292 Whitetail deer or (66%) are Sun Rise to Noon Sightings.
168 Whitetail deer or (34%) are Noon to Sunset Sightings.

Based on 317 at the end of 03 - Whitetail Deer - based off 10 years of personal observation records and 6 years of photo’s from surveillance camera and other resources.

208 Whitetail deer or (66%) are Sun Rise to Noon Sightings.
109 Whitetail deer or (34%) are Noon to Sunset Sightings.

siletassassin the numbers are gathered deer from me hunting, my game camera and friends cameras and from hunters in my group.

The deer can not be counted if they are jumped from bedding. Typically everything is seen from the stand.

The two other response help explain it more. 2004 is movement is determined by the last 10 years of keeping records.

When I am putting this into the computer I have know way to know wheather it will just throw out everything I have come to know as true.

But having plugging in additional 143 viewed 03 the only big change from all years past is the new moon has changed places with full moon and first quarter change places with last quarter, but the number are what I still believe to be within reason and still are 70% to 30% over phases to fulls.

Will be glad to answer more if this does not clear it up. Be sure and check out the moon facts alot of reading but I find it interesting.
