Anyone ever done this before in cold weather?

I had a hunting buddy tell me once that when it got real cold one year during deer season that he took a sleeping bag in his tree with him. He said he got in it and just sat all day. Has anyone ever done this? It has got to keep you warm. But carrying a bag around could be a pain.

Wouldn't it be a little difficult to shoot his bow?

If it's that cold that you need a sleeping bag to stay warm, I'm staying on the couch next to the fire place.

Adams,

I saw that suit in Deer and Deer hunter. Seems pretty cool. I wish I could try one out to see what it's like.

Me too but not for the price. $299.00 to take one of these bad boys home. No thanks!

I dont use a sleeping back, i use a wool army blanket and an artic cat propane heater.........well what about smell you are saying. Play the wind and u dont have to worry about that, just stay warm. Any way its gun season here in ohio when its that cold, so by the time they get within range its too late.

The only problem I have is my feet, my toes get so cold they hurt, oh and my hand somtimes, the bow gets so cold that it freezes my hand too.

I have one of those small Mr. Heaters, sits on top of those green propane bottles. I usually bring it with me in either my tree stand or my portable bind, when the temps are very low. I use it to keep me warm and extend my hunt, but only use it after I start to shiver. Then I turn the hearter on, warm up, and off it goes. I can do this several times untill darkness comes or I leave. Works great, smaller than a sleeping bag and doesn't cost much.
