3 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My brother-in-law put out his new digrc-xtr with NEW batteries, and it went dead after only 3 days! I feel really horrible about this because I recommended this particular camera. Now finding out about all of the battery related horror stories, I will have him send it back. Also, he had fourteen pictures, but, some were of nothing and a few were of the deers dairy air![:@][:@][:@][:@]

Form the feedback the 3.0 mp camera is a real battery hog. I wonder what could cause such a power draw that the 1.3 mp camera dosn't have. I'd see about a 1.3 mp camera or a homebrew. Either would be less expensive and both would give greater battery life.

I also have a Stealth Cam DIGRC-XTR and it is definately a battery HOG. I have tried all kinds of batteries (including the ones made for digital cameras) and cannot get more than 4-5 days oout of a set. Has anyone out there tried hooking a 12 volt to the solar charging port on the bottom of the cam? I am to the point of trying it myself and if it destroys the cam then at least that will give me a reason to buy a cuddleback!

If you are interested i would give these battereies a shot before you send it back. They are very inexpensive and last a very long time. I had them made by a company in taiwan. They really make a difference in my other devices that use AA bats.

Look at the Black Diamond Media 2000mAH AA batteries.

Note ( THis is my business. I really hope you guys dont think this is just advertising)
If you think this is against the rules be my guest to delete this post. I just think it is a very good alterntive to sending the product back.

I smell Hunting BBS discounts!

I have tried the 2200mAH rechargeables and I still only get 4 days out of the cam. I talked to a "Tech" at Stealth Cam and he said to try some Everready "e" batteries and they should last 10 days. i have them in the cam now and it has been out in the woods for 4 days and I will check it later today and report back when it is on "low Battery".
