Halo for mosquiteos
Im not sure how the new product is spelled but it sounds like...Halo. A mosquiteo repelling chemical release device that does not burn but emits chemicals that make it impossible for the little blood suckers to see us.
Early season in WI comes with the mosquiteos (nasty biting one that act like they can take on small eagles) and because of the smell I do not like to use any of the sprays etc. I have only seen these on TV and Im wondering if any of you have tried them at home. Do they work? Is there a detectable smell to them? If they work and do not smell they may be just the thing to have between your feet in the tree stand during the early season. |

I don't know about that prouduct but I use a unscented repellent on my hands and face and a perithion based prouduct on my clothes that deer don't seem to smell. If you are down wind who cares.

The thermacell does work fantastic, but there is a smell associated with it. They advertise no smell, but it is fairly strong.;)

RE: Halo for mosquiteos
I live and hunt in Florida..mosquitos are a real problem during bowseason and sometimes gun season here. The Thermacell is the greatest thing invented since sliced bread. Yes, there is a smell associated with it, but because it is being heated it rises. I guess it cools and eventually comes down, but I have had deer less than 10 yrds away and have never been winded. Good Luck, I don't go in the woods without mine during bowseason.

Would a Shannon Bug Tamer be a better choice?
