If I had to choose between the 2 I'd pick the copper johns

BUT

For the same price, I'd go with the Cobra Sidewinder
It is close to the copper johns except also has adjustable windage and elevation without needing an allen wrench - "no tool" adjustments.
It also has 2 feet of coiled fiber optics for more light gathering and still has the bubble level the other 2 you mention offer.
It only has 3 pins however - whereas the other 2 you mention have 3 to 5 pins.

Just my biased opinion - I use the sidewinder and I like it very much!

would you all say the extreme 400 or 500 is better to get?

I like the copper johns, but just had to switch over to the TR Matrix. Got too good of a deal to pass it up. Really liked the CJ though, might switch back and upgrade a little bit also.

I had CJ sights and tried several others. I'm now back to nothing but CJs. They're simple, solid, and backed by a great bunch of people. With the big pin guard I can use a large peep, for better light transmission. And the large pin guard gives a very good sized field of view, even close up. BTW, the .029 pins are brighter, and better for hunting, than the .019s, IMO.

Either one I think you will be pleased with. I personally prefer the Copper John Pro lineup over the hunter models. But for the price the Copper Johns are one of the best out there, and on top of this they have A-1 customer service, if you have any problems contact them and they will take great care of you, and have whatever you need to you in a flash.
