Pendulum sights or more speed..?

I shoot a Mathews Q2, 29 inch draw, about 65 lbs, 27.5" 2315, feathers 100 gr head.. 479 grains total..

I shoot about 235-240 fps...

Too me, i get way too much DROP between 20 and 30 yrds...

I like the kinetic engergy i have, but was wondering if I should shoot a lighter arrow and crank my bow to almost 70..

Or should I get a pendulum sight, I do most of my hunting out of treestands... with limited ground hunting...

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I`m in the same boat you are! I have shot a pendulum sight for yrs. just becouse i mostly hunt from a tree any where from 12-25 ft up. i just bought a new bow and i really like it but? I still get a big drop from 20-30yrds so ether i can crank my bow down to 70lb and shoot a lighter arrow and broadhead or shoot with a good pedulum sight and keep what i have? I have a copper johns dead nuts sight on my bow right know and i really like it. But a pedulum sight really seems to help me when hunting out of a tree and i have always had good luck using them. I will most likey change back to a pedulum before hunting season.[&:]

...........Bowtech...............

;):D

I would opt for a lighter arrow and more poundage (only if its comfortable).

if you are only hunting Deer - you will be fine........maybe 390 to 410 grns.

it will not make a world of difference - but will flatten you out a little.

I would opt for a lighter arrow, but leave the weight alone if you're comfortable with it. More weight won't necessarily give you more speed as you have to shoot a heavier arrow for the weight. At 65# you should be able to shave as much as 125gr off the arrow weight and gain a bit more than 20fps. This should flatten your trajectory considerably. You won't see much POI change at 20 yards, but your pin gap will close up. With a speed of about 260fps you should be able to sight in a single pin for about 25 yards and shoot almost any deer between 5 and 30 yards with a center-chest hold. It makes guessing yardage easier because you don't have to. Just aim and shoot. You should notice about a 3" drop from 25 to 30 yards. You'll be about 2" high at 20. Not enough to worry about.
