In your opinion what is the most outrageous ad?
 

I don't even know why I have a subscription to any bowhunting magazine any more. More ads than articles it seems. Further some of the outlandish claims by some of the manufacturers bring "truth in advertising" to a new low. It seems like the "fudge factor" is everywhere in the bowhunting industry (obviously others too). From what I see exaggerated claims have affected everything from inflated IBO speeds to "forget the wind, just hunt" clothing! What products have you had first hand experience with that (in your opinion) doesn't live up to the advertising claims?

Crimson talons adds are some of the worst - really turned me off to their product.

The Can from Primos. Very overrated. I bought it when i when i read a bunch of hype about the "second rut". That and mike beatty was with his monster buck on the can. I couldnt get anything to come to that. Even the deer wouldnt react a whole lot to it. Maybe i was doing wrong? i ended up dropping it out of my treestand one cold Iowa morning and forget to pick it up. One year later, found it all full of mud...bulldozer ended up crushing it for me. oh well, only 10 bucks..I really can't think of anything i've bought except for that because of the hype and misleading advertising. now days i just wait for somebody on here to bitch about it or sing its praises unless its something i know is going to work. If this thread were about fishing lures/products....well, i would have to take my socks off to count that crap..lol

One that I see all over the place from archery to Muzzle loaders, to center fire rifles is........

Knowing the animals and the land that you hunt will make you a better hunter but not the latest widget.

i agree the High Country ads are pretty outrageous..GUM-O-FLAGE looks like a gimmic too.

Seriously, I would have to agree with two already mentiones her. The High Country ad and the cough silencer adds on Outdoor Channel. I think that if I hear "Don't be a Hackmaster" one more time!!!!!

Gum O Flage is a clorophyll gum that you chew a few days before the hunt and during to control your breath odor. its new, should be in the Deer and Deer hunting magazine. Ewolf, whats wrong with Mathews WINNING TOURNAMENTS and displaying that they won? Its showing that on the pro archery tour that their bows reign over the competition. They make great bows. Every company has a right to advertise. Martin has that really hot model holding their bows. the cough silencer has uncle ted talking about not being a hackmaster and being a whackmaster. I dunno what everyone has against mathews...most mathews owners arent out knocking Hoyt's advertising(they advertise just as much), or bowtech or martin or any other company.
