I would say my GPS, I know the property like the back of my hand, I know exactly where my stands are - day or night, but I sure do love my GPS and all of the "Bells and Whistles" it has on it, even helps to pass the time when deer sightings are low.

My Nikon Laser 400 rangefinder. Its really fun scoping things out when you hunt a new spot and very helpful being confident with yardage.

Some of you may remember my monster buck a couple weeks ago that I got a second chance after not being able to pull my bow back on this buck a week eariler..............well someone make the comment that CLOUD 9 had a horseshoe stuck up my ........I think they may be right!!!!! I'd have to say that a deer decoy would be the item of choice here,I don't really need it but I sure would like to have one.

ORIGINAL: Fieldmouse I would have to say a knife. I talk myself out of killing deer all the time. I'll go in saying I'm going to kill something on my hunt. Only to talk myself out of shooting when I start thinking of having to deal with the kill afterwards. |

First couple days it would be my lunch. Its nice to have put a pain to carry with all the other s--t that I do not use. Another is my climbing tree stand. I love it, I can sit all day in it, but hate to carry it out, set it up, and take it down. I have found locks that will lock the cable to the stand so now I tend to move it after a hunt if I need. Its easier to hide on the ground too.

Just found it!! Its in a post in the GEAR section. Its a trail monitor that has sensors you set out that will tell your hand radio there has been movement at that sensor. They have them at Cabela's. Pricey but would be cool.

I just bought a 4x4 truck, so technically I don't "need" my quad to get to my stand 4.5 miles from camp. But riding it to and fro sure puts a big smile on my face. And for all those non atv advocates- 98% of the peeps on my lease have and use them. It's piney woods logging road terrain, 7700 acres of ATV fun! |
