PSE Stingray Questions

I shoot a PSE Stingray, 68#, 28.5" draw, 80% let off. I have been shooting since January '04. My arrow of choice is the easton 2315 at 29" with a 100 gr tip (target) about 519 gr setup. To me speed is not an issue. My question is to anyone who shoots the stingray and has a short enough draw length to warrant a "draw stop". My string is one month old and the serving is becoming frayed. This, after discovery, was due to the "drawstop" screwhead coming into contact with the serving on both the draw and the release. Custom strings don't come cheap and I love the bow. I spoke with a PSE rep and he said this was normal wear on the serving due to the "radical design" of the cam and there is not much I could do to eliminate the anomaly. Is he yanking my chain? Also I have noticed the limbs are slightly warped and it appears the string is riding off the cam (at rest). Am I being told to go away or is this normal for the bow?

RE: PSE Stingray Questions

I have a hard time believeing that PSE would design a bow that has issues of this sort from normal wear. I've never shot the stingray so I can't say for certain. I'd suggest posting on the PSE message board.

Diane Watson and the gang there are very helpful and won't stear you wrong. If this is normal they will know and tell you so. If not the will direct you to the appropiate channels to correct the issues(This will start with your local dealer). PSE will take care of you if there is a problem.

My Bro-in-law used to hunt with a stingray, and he has a 26" dl. I don't remember him complaining about unusual wear on the serving from the draw stop. I'll ask him if he noticed anything like that.

RE: PSE Stingray Questions

Any help is greatly appreciated! Mt bow is currently in the shop getting restrung (as if I had a choice) and they are so busy I won't get it back until next week[:@]. I do have a custom long bow I was wanting to toy with so all is not lost. Maybe I'll be a convert?
