self heating meals
 
Has any on tried the self heating meals like the ones that Cabelas sells? If you have please give a report. Im considering useing them on this years archery Elk hunt. Thanks fourmules

SCH i am not sure if they are the same that the military uses but the MRE that the army uses has its advantages it fast to prepare and also good for you at the same time the only thing is, is that some of them taste like crap but others are realy good hope this helps

Be fore warned. Those freeze dried meals give you gas some kind of bad.[X(][X(] So hunt the wind.;)

I haven't tried the ones that Cabelas sells but all the rest I have tried will do it.

I have looked at them and plan on stashing a few outside the house for next time I find the locks changed.:D:D:D

Boys let me tell ya i did 5years in the marine corps and i have plenty of mre's and winter mre's that have so much carbs in them the creator of atkins diet would have a heart attack, i use them for turkey hunting, deer, and everything in between, some people say they clog u up but i have never had a problem with them, u can buy them buy the box, and they have there own website too i think, army surplus store could lead u the way if u want to buy some mine were all free from uncle sam. But they are good to go[8D]

do u still have to add water to the mre's that the army dishes out to get them to heat?

yes but you only need like a cup or so to get it to work
