Game Cam Poll
Please list the type of Game Camera you use, the film you prefer to use in it and the reason why.
Thank you. |
RE: Game Cam Poll
69$ stealth cam with 200 speed film kodak, because it was on sale last time;)
Fugi works fine also. |
RE: Game Cam Poll
Digital stealth cam
Great pics and no film. Total overall affordability is why I bought this unit. |
RE: Game Cam Poll
Frank
Just the el cheapo stealth cam with 400 film slightly better pics at night. Hoping to add a digital Stealth cam in the future. |
RE: Game Cam Poll
Built all my own over the past 4 years. Currenty I uses an Olympus D-380 2.0 MP, Sony P32 3.2MP and a Minolta X20 (all digitals).
Why? Because they work better than any commercial unit. |
RE: Game Cam Poll
Stealth Cam (the inexpensive one)
I’m in the process of finding out which film works the best! I'll be back in the future to post my findings;) |
RE: Game Cam Poll
I just got the cheap Stealth cam. T in Pa Did you use the dirctions off of Jessie's hunting page to make them. How difficult was it. If I have success with the cheap camera I would like to build a digital one.

RE: Game Cam Poll
Had a Moultrie Game Cam II and took it back to Wal-Mart because the thing was a p.o.s.
Had 2 Stealth Cam MC2-G's! Sold one and I broke the other one. Possibly the best bang for the buck unit on the market! I used Kodak Max 400 and 800 speed film! Now, I have a Non-Typical Cuddeback digital on the way! I can't wait to try it out! Have plans on building my own digital unit in the near future! |
RE: Game Cam Poll
Coyote Ridge,
There's a couple places with information on camera. Check out www.hagshouse.com You will need to register to see the camera forum. Note: webpage link corrected on 6/25 |
RE: Game Cam Poll
Thanks for the replies so far folks. I am just trying to get a handle on whether or not there is a better film to use in my game cam.
Thanks to you digital guys too. I eventually may head that route. |
RE: Game Cam Poll
Those Cuddebacks are awesome. Have not tried the Stealth cam digitals yet, but I have used their film cameras. I am going to strictly digital. May try to build on too.

|
RE: Game Cam Poll
I did not route through all of that haghouse site but I could not find anything either. T?

I went through an old post and I believe it is www.hagshouse.com

RE: Game Cam Poll
Cuddeback gets my vote.
I had some problems with daytime pics and their quality earlier, but all the pics I had lately have been great. I also dropped my unit and popped out one the lenses, I sent it back and had it repaired and it was sent back to me within a 10 days, with updated software. Great company IMO. |

RE: Game Cam Poll
member of hagshouse here. I am running 2 digital units now using p32's, x10's and brain units in them. I have 3 in the making now with the new camo dipped boxes. Why, someone stated it beautifully, they kick arse and are better than any commercial unit sold as of now. I just checked mine today and off one camera I got 349 picts over a weeks time using 2 AA batteries that still had 1/4 of there charge in the camera and my nine volt running the brain unit. You guys keep buying those expensive units and one day you too might get the courage to build one. the first one took me a day, the second and third has taken me only 1 hour to get half way done with them. I am waiting on the brain units to finish them out. have about 1 1/2 left to complete them. I will post some picts or you can look at them at hagshouse.com under my screen name might be better as the last time I posted a pict of my unit, I was bashed pretty hard. Good luck in what ever you decide but the homebrews rock!
P.S. goto the picture forum and you can check out the about 6 of todays pictures from my unit. |
RE: Game Cam Poll
I made my game cam from info from Jesses Hunting site. The members are real helpful and you can make one from scratch if you like to tinker or you can buy the complete boards and just plug the stuff in. Pixcontroller and Fieldpix are also two that make the kits. Here is Jesse's forum to ask questions and get info.

RE: Game Cam Poll
I have a cheapie Stealth, a $129.00 Stealth and a Leaf River Trailscan. The trailscan takes better pictures with less false triggers, but for th money I don't think the Stealths can be beat.
I use Kodak Max 400 in all of them. |
