Today I went to check my hunting area just for a look to see what's been happening since Turkey season. I thought while I was out it would be a perfect time to put out a couple Mineral lick's with some powder deer cocaine,I went to the 2 rub lines that i found this season expecting that this spot is going to be hot this upcoming season,one area had 15 rub's in it and the other I counted 37 rub's .I didn't want to saturate the area with human scent so I found the trail's coming in from the back end of the rub line and scraped the ground clean for about 4 feet and dug a small hole ,I then put a mineral block half way into the hole and covered around it with dirt ,i was careful not to touch the block with my bare hands .After this I opened a bag of Deer cocaine and sprinkled it all over a 4 foot area around the mineral block . I did the same for the other ,last season i seen a big buck at both these area's but wasn't in the right location in order to get a shot at them ,but both these buck's entered this area from the rear of the rub lines.Hopefully this season I'll have him cornered and it'll be a success .

I put some mineral rocks out about a month ago. The deer have hammered one of them, the other 3 they havent touched much. One of the ones was where i put some deer cocaine out...followed teh instructions, added the right amount of water. they never touched it. i had to add water because of the drought we had. also, i ddidnt bother too much with scent. i handled them a bit. deer didnt seem to mind. i may hunt near them, but i set up three of them so i could observe deer from a distance. Now was the time to get them out since we're expecting some extra rain this week ,I put the powder form cocaine out hopefully the rain drives it into the ground .I'll check them in about a month and maybe take some more Cocaine and add to it to freshen it up .Thank's Deerslayer and keep up to date on how your's is coming just maybe we can learn on this together ,maybe share some tip's ,there just might be something one does that the other doesn't that work's . Maybe we can help each other .

I put out some salt with Selinum (for bone growth). I put it out in 4 different locations, when I went back to check it after a month, I found that the deer had ripped the area apart!!! I got out of there as quick as I could, went back to the store and got more. Hopefully next month I will have to put some more down!

i wouldnt worry a whole lot about getting back there and putting new stuff in the lick. once that stuff is in the soil, itll be there for several years. we have licks that havent been refreshed in 3 years and hte deer still eat the dirt out of it. its crazy. i think im gonna pick up a bag of deer coaine to put down in teh woods. carrying the rocks out is tough. they're some rocks from utah with trace minerals, must have alot of salt too. always check your salt content unless you're doing this for attractin. if you're doing it for herd health, get some deer cocaine or something like that. most blocks and rocks are up to 97% salt. not many nutrients. i'm doing my stuff mainly for attraction, but like i said, i may get a bag or two of deer coke to put out for nutrition. cabelas has it real cheap i think, 4 or 5 bucks a bag.

Good idea to post a thread with this type of title. As I am sure you have seen in my deer cam pics in recent weeks two of my deer cocane locations are doing extremely well in terms of overall activity. I have to check the other one later this week but I expect it to be the same.

I will second horntaggers mix. I have been using it for 3 years now and it is starting to show results in the herd. roughly $20.00 to 25.00 for 200 LBS from the local MFA, and the deer tear it up.
