Buckfevr,
I do not disagree with you. I have taken the shot countless times and I am an avid hunter. I was just trying to portray a message in this story that we as hunters often miss. We need not measure our success as a hunter by the amount of meat in the freezer or the size of the mounts on the wall (though I do enjoy both ) but rather the time we share with our fathers and sons and the memories we have to take with us.

Fine, fine, mighty fine job of writing bearklr. There are many magazines out there with stories every month that are a notch or two below your's. Submit it and I can almost guarantee you that some mag will be more that willing to publish your work. Congrats and I am sure glad you learned that lesson from your Dad.
