Not too shabby
I shot 80 yrds for the fist time in a long time yesterday and I grouped them in a basketball. Not too bad considering I only have oins out to 60. I was happy about that. Then a couple of weeks ago I shot my best shot ever, I got a red squirrel at 50 yrds. The Extreme is shooting great.;)

RE: Not too shabby
I never shoot out to 80yds. It's too costly for me to replace arrows. I'd say a baskettball group at 80 or a itty bitty red squirrel at 50 is damn good shooting. I'd be happy with a proformance like that.

The Extreme is shooting great We are the archers, the bow is part of our equipment. |
RE: Not too shabby
I have to ask; Is squirrel season open in MI.?
|
RE: Not too shabby
wouldnt want to be a deer in your neck of the woods!!!!

RE: Not too shabby
I think Techy is shooting good, with the help of the bow.;)

RE: Not too shabby
That is some good shooting :)
|
RE: Not too shabby
That is some awesome shooting, that for sure. what part of Michigan do you live?
|
RE: Not too shabby
I'm almost positive there is no red squirrel season in Michigan. I think you can shoot them year round right along with chipmunks.

RE: Not too shabby
Thats poaching Now I see why you didn't answer.

RE: Not too shabby
Red squirrels season is open year round in michigan.;)

RE: Not too shabby
Techy ! that's great shooting in my book's ,can't say that I'd even try a shot at a squirrel at that range or even any other range but good for you ,Arrow's cost too much if you miss. I'd take the 80yrd shot's since I shoot 70yrds now on occasion,at a decent size target.

RE: Not too shabby
Perhaps I may have jumped to conclusions[&:]. If I did, I am truely sorry.[&o] I always was under the impression that Fox and Red were one in the same type of squirrel. I do believe in the state of WI., landowners may hunt certain types of small game year round.
Again, if I am mistaken, or that is the case, I am sorry. |
RE: Not too shabby
Congrats on the fine shooting! Here in Wisconsin, landowners and their immediate famalies can shoot rabbits, coon, squirrels( i dont know about reds, we dont have any of those in the corner of the state). Skunks are open all year round now with teh DNR's orders to kill all in sight, as they carry rabies most times. congrats again!

RE: Not too shabby
Maybe I just wasn't looking in the right area, because I couldn't find much on non-game animals (gophers, rats, etc.) on that Michigan GF&P site except for one little blurb on this page: check the bottom of the page where it lists red squirrel, along with skunk, as "unprotected."

RE: Not too shabby

Its all good |
RE: Not too shabby
Definitely some nice shooting there Techy. I have not shot farther than 40 yards for practice in quite some time but I remember it was alot of fun. :)
|
RE: Not too shabby
I'd say that if you're feeling threatened by a squirrel at 50 yards,,, season or not, he's goina' get it;)
|
RE: Not too shabby
