Finally time for a new string.

It's time. My old bow must have a new string.
I've never put a new string on my bow, so I have a question. I heard you have to shoot the heck out of it, then after you get everything just right and go back to shoot it the next day, it'll be off again. Like how a guitar string will go out of tune. Is this true?

It depends what you buy. Skip all the headaches and order a winners choice from Cabelas!;)

Most bow strings do stretch and some never stop stretching. There are a couple of quality manufactures that make a pre-stretched strings, Winner's Choice is one. It sort of hurts the pocket book but money well spent. I have bought several strings from WC made with the 8125 material and am very pleased with them. The servings at the center and at the cams do not seperate. The peep once adjusted will stay and will not need adjusting for 1000"s of shots. Just make sure you order the correct length strings and control strings. Measuring the old strings most likly will be longer than when they were new. Strings can stretch as much as 2" look at the lable on the bow or contact the manufacture to find out the correct lengths required.

Old string was around 64" but the bow called for a 61" string. Thats what I ordered.

Thanks for the info.
