Ordered my bow today!!!
 

Stopped over at the bow shop today outside Boaz, they weren't open but the guy was nice enough to fill me in on the Mathew's LX and ordered me one, 70# and 28.5 draw length. probably an HHA sight and whisker biscuit rest. the bare bow will be $605 plus tax. he sets it up and paper tunes it and when i pick it up it'll be ready to go. Gander's Hill Country Archery, right outisde Boaz, WI, best prices on a Mathew's in the whole state.

Congrats slayer. When will you be picking it up? I just picked up my new xTec at the Trading Post outside of Arena. They have Matthews and Hoyt. I didn't really care for the outback I tried but I can see where some will like it. I'm just glad they all make good bows so that we have more quality bows to choose from. Arena by the way is about 35 miles west of Madison. I do my hunting north of Richland Center near Rockbridge. There is some great country in southwestern WI regardless of the CWD.

Good luck to you with the new bow. Shoot often and shoot straight. But most of all have fun.:D

i think the outback price is $629 at the pappas trading post, how much is the outback over to ganders archery? not toofar from either place being located in muscoda!

I checked out the outback while i was there, i think it was around 620 or so. I thought it was kinda small for my taste. Jerry Gander said he's been setting up alot of outbacks lately, and that normally its slow around the shop this time of year, but he's selling as many as ever. He just set up a new outback for himself, and said he likes the LX a bit more. My bow should be ready in about 2-3 weeks he said. Will be shooting perfect, as he's gonna get it paper tuned and everything. Oh, and measured my draw length today. It's 2 inches longer than my draw length last year.

Deerslayer, you may want to consider paper tuning the bow yourself with the help of the proshop. Keep in mind that your form and style of shooting is different and will yield different results when paper tuning. Just something to consider! :)

I was just in the Trading Post the other day. Looked like they had a few bows marked down a hundred bucks. Looked like some pretty good prices. I wasn't in the market for a new bow so I didn't pay that close of attention.
Ask him if its 300/60X perfect![:o] Seriously tho, be sure and stop in the tech forum and read, read, and read some more. ;)

Thanks guys. yeah, still growing. will be 15 in september. i figure i got 4 or 5 more inches yet(a hair under 5'9" right now). Jerry has it set up so it'll be a little big right away, then by the time im 16 1/2 or 17 I'll get the cams changed to whatever draw length im shooting then. I think an LX is a bit of a step up from a 4 year old PSE Nova. This year is going to be my kind of "practice" year. There's a couple P&Y class bucks probably behind the house, i know there were several that made it through the season that were around 110 last year. I'm gonna hunt them(130 acres) this year, and next year hunt over in iowa on our 640 we got over there. yeah, i dont care what they say about CWD. our 750 outside boscobel in grant county is in the outer CWD zone. doesnt bother us. we actually got our deer population waaaayy down by shooting about 25 deer for 3 years straight. rack quality went up and the herd is alot healthier. good luck to yall this season
