RE: Climbing tree stands
summit or API grandslam bowhunter. can't go wrong with either.

RE: Climbing tree stands
I'm sure you will get a ton of different answers to choose from.
I personally like Loggy followed by Summit |
RE: Climbing tree stands
I love my loggy bayou climber.. but a summit would be my next choice. I have several friends that have them and they're really nice stands. I really like the cable setup and the ability to adjust the angle of the stand once you get to the height you're gonna hunt at.... don't have the sit there w/ the stand aiming up a bit.. or worse yet.. aiming down w/ the feeling that if you move you're gonna fall.

RE: Climbing tree stands
You can never go wrong with a Old Man Grand Vision stand. Definately Quiet, safe, comfortable and easy to climb.

RE: Climbing tree stands
My personal opinion is the Summit Viper XLS or Goliath first, then the Lone Wolf Alpha Sit and Climb second. I have owned both brands(and API too)but now use the Viper because the Lone Wolf was just too small and uncomfortable for me to sit for extended periods of time. Both companies make an excellent product, stand behind them and have great customer suppot should the need arise.

RE: Climbing tree stands
I love my tree lounge, it takes some practice getting it on the tree quickly and quietly, but once you figure it out, you can sit all day no problem!!!

RE: Climbing tree stands
First choice.........Lone Wolf
Second choice......Summit |
RE: Climbing tree stands
The Summit Viper is the most popular in the polls that usually circulate these forums. I have had some good experiences over the last year or so with my Summit Revolution but would probably get one of the Summit "backpacker" models like the Bullet or Broadhead if I had to get another stand.

RE: Climbing tree stands
I may try a Summit next.......probably will !
Mine though......is heavy , mildly uncomfortable, confining , and old............but going on about 8-9 years now and still trucking ........compact as ever !! ;) The original Old Man......that sucker's been hard to beat !! |
RE: Climbing tree stands
I have an API that I've used and loved for several years.... except for the seat. I just picked up a Buckshot Hotshot... a pound or two more but the seat is comfy and the stand is rock solid.

RE: Climbing tree stands
Love my Loggy.

RE: Climbing tree stands
The summit Viper is an all around easy to use climbing tree stand. Not quite as comfortable as a tree lounge, but close, and much easier to carry and use.
