new bow hunter needs help
 

hunted turkeys for 3 years and got a bird each time with shotgun,needless to say im addictid.my dad was a huge bow and arrow hunter until he passed away when i was young.you have probably been asked this many times but can you suggest a begginers bow for me,i pick things up quick so i want something i can grow into,i shot bow with my dad into targets when i was young.any suggestions for equipment for a new hunter would be appreciated.thanx,good hunting and good health to all.

What are you interested in? New techno or traditional?
What did you shoot when you were a kid?
How much money are you willing to spend?
How much time are you willing to spend practicing?

Theres alot of neat new and old stuff out there! What type of bow did your father shoot?

Welcome to the world of archery!!

A couple of other questions for you.
1) how old are you?
2) What is your size and strength?
3) like stated above what kind of archery do you want to shoot (traditional or compound)?
4) What is your price range?

This could help with some suggestions, but just know, if you ask 20 bow hunters a question you could get 20 different answers. Shoot what you like and what you are comfortable with.

im 43 y/o 6,1 210 lbs in decent shape.looking for a coumpound bow willing to spend anywhere from 300-600$.willing to practice frequently.

300-600 fully accessorized, or just for the bow? if you search through some threads here and on the technical side you'll see how important it is to find a pro-shop and not someone who sells bows. before you decide what equipment, you might want to decide what shop - and see what they sell. honestly there are a lot of good bows out there. go talk to and spend some time in the shops in your area before you buy and see how people are treated, maybe contact a local archery club and ask some of the people there who has the best customer service and knowledge in your area. can't repeat this enough.
