I'm retired so I can hunt every day of the year ,the only thing keeping it from being the perfect job for a whitetail hunter is we don't have huntable whitetails .The ones we have are protected .

I don't know if you can have a job that would be "perfect",but the one I got is close.I live on the land that I hunt on,it's private/posted and only my next-door neighbor and i hunt it(approx.500 acres).I live at the work site, and work 12 hour shifts that rotate,8am-8pm or 8pm-8am.I work 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next.Have 2 week-ends off every month, and 1 whole week off each month at the end of the 4 rotations.I've worked for the company a long time(24 years)so I also get 5 weeks of vacation each year.I make a decent living too,so I don't know how it could get a whole lot better.Maybe if my daddy had left me rich..lol

Self employed insurance/ investment broker. Work lots of hours but get to pick em most of the time. I think it's more about MAKING the time to hunt no matter what you do for a living. Lots of days I only get 2 hours in the woods but I take em. When bow season starts, I dont leave the house without my bow and camo. That way, If I get a break in the schedule, I run for my treestand

The best hunting job I have ever herd of my buddie has. He is an operating engineer. He works like a dog starting in Feb/March until mid Sept. Makes around 50,000 during that time then collects unemployment during hunting season. I am trying to get in this year. You know you have a problem with hunting when your trying to structure your living around it.

i love my job...i'm an ops ranger at one of the state's reserve's...i do anything from road repair, to getting on the atv and learning the terrain, to controlled burns...i do it all i can work the days i want too ,i have all hunts off, unless i want to work, i can work til noon , and hunt after , or go in early and hunt til noon , and then work, but keep in mind that there are only quota hunts allowed there , so i'm one of the first to get the extra permmits if i don't have one , if not there's no hunting....but i know where the critters are all of the time hee hee giggle giggle
