Default East vs. West

From what I see the majority of the people in the bowhunting forum are from the east. My question is this.... how many of you who are from the east have been able to hunt the west and vice versa. Then my question after that one is what were the pros and cons of hunting the west? (For the people hunting from the east.)

Thanks....

I think I would like to hunt out west...but I have so dang many white tails out here I don't think I'll ever run out of deer to hunt. So for me it's just a matter of practicality.
I think the farthest I might go west is Pike Co., Ill

I hunted for mulies out in Oregon last year, and loved it- Pro's- wide open beauty, awesome views and very few hunters if you work to get away.

Cons- I thought I was going to go crazy looking for a tree to climb into or hide behind[8D]

Stalking through the sage brush in my socks and waiting out my buck was absolutely awesome- a different adrenaline rush from anything experienced in the east where we do alot of waiting for something to pass vs. glassing and stalking.

Living in Oklahoma, I'll just split the difference and stay here.

I'd like to hunt Canada for whitetail and caribou, and out West for elk and pronghorn.

You all can keep talking about your east vs. west thing but the midwest is where all the hunting REALLY is!!

I have hunted and lived in both. I now reside in Idaho and will never leave this place. Don't get me wrong. The east has some fantastic hunting and I plan to go back to hunt with some old friends. But I would give it all up for elk hunting with a bow in the great state of Idaho.
