Sunflower seeds

Do deer spook at the smell of the regular sunflower seeds? I always eat them but am wondering if I should take them to my stand.

Ive never had them react. If anything, i would think they would like the salt off of them.

RE: Sunflower seeds

Something I have learned from visiting these boards is how much different hunting the South and East is compared to the West. Here the populations aren't so great that they will come anytime, anywhere. They know when there is something new around and then they usually avoid it. Until it has been there for so long that it becomes normal. We try to avoid anything that would carry a scent not natural to the environment that we are hunting. Therefore, say BBQ sunflower seeds can carry an odor that they would smell. Especially after you have chewed on them. Quite a difference from back east or down south. It takes alot more to get them to come in, I think. But I could also be wrong. Never hunted the south or the east.... But I want to!!!
