corn or beans

what type of crop will be better for attracting/growing deer in southern minnesota? my stand is along a field that is planted every year with either corn or beans, and i think this year will be corn. which is better?

I have a stand in the same kind of spot that you are talking about, last year was corn, and the year before that it was beans. I really was expecting to see more deer this past year with the corn there, but I really didnt see any more than I did when it was beans. I think you will do ok either way. Good Luck!

The beans will attarct the deer while they're still green. The corn offers better cover if its still standing. After it's cut it provides a great winter food source. Bean on the other hand are that great of a source after they're cut.
