Best Batteries for game cams?

I have had a Moultrie Feeders Game Cam for about a month now and just bought a stealthcam mc2-g. I was just wondering if you guys had any opinions on which Batteries would give me the longest life.

i think energizer just started selling batteries specially designed for cameras that are supposed to be pretty good and last awhile so they might be worth a shot.

Well, ones that you can afford but seem to work as well as Duracells or Energizers are the Rayovac Maximum Plus. The ones that Rusty is talking about are the Energizer E Lithium. The cheapest I have found them is $10 for a 4 pack, nad the Stealth Cams take 8 batteries. The Rayovacs usually last us 4-5 weeks on average and cost about $9 for a 30 pack at Home Depot.

I am doing a test on 2 different batteries right now. I have 2 Stealth cams, and in one of them I have Duracells. I used this kind all winter and they did a fine job, and it got down below 0 around here. The other one has the Rayovac 15 minute rechargeable batteries in it. They have both been out for 8 days now, so hopefully I can get another 2 weeks out of them before I have to change them. I went out and checked them yesterday and had 6 pictures on one, and 16 on the other one. All does but one, I could see 2 litle fuzzy's about 1" long. So hopefully I can watch him grow all year with my cameras. I will let you all know what I find out with my test.

i assume you are all referring to 35 mm game cams?? I have a digital and got 5 days out of a set of good energizers; 1 day out of rechargeables, and 1 day out of generic batteries. The manufacturer said that 2 weeks is tops (that is probably in cold weather). wish I could get more (really cant' see why the batteries don't last longer, the camera is only on when taking pictures???)

ge wiz, 5 days out of unit kinda stinks. out of my home brew I have just started testing I get over 175 picts so far with and without flash. my p32 camera uses 2 AA's which i am using the maxwell or sony rechargeables. my brain unit uses 1 nine volt that will last 3 months. Total batteries used in my unit is 3. I have used the rayovac cheepies but haven't concluded any tests other that they took over 125 picts. Other cyber friends that use the homebrews tell me that I can expect over 300 picts off the sony p32 off 2 AA's. Sorry can't help you with the stealth cam but from what I have seen posted they are battery hungry.
