you just got $7500 .... how you going to spend it on bowhunting ?

You've just been given $7,500 for bowhunting ... how you going to spend it ?

Seriously, would you go on one guided hunt ? Two semi guided hunts ? Drop camps, tresspass fees, pay 10 years worth of leasing .... and what animals would you choose ? A moose because you've never killed one or a elk because you've never shot a big one ? Maybe you'd buy equipment instead ?

Curious to what ya'll would do - thanks

Got too much equipment as it is. I would have to spend it on leasing the property next to me. Good huntin' over there, I know there are 2 200 class bucks that live over there. I could probably only lease it for 5 years, but that would be five big deer that would drop from my broadheads.

I would use it as a down payment to purchase some hunting land.

I would most assuredly use it as a downpayment for land to hunt on....either actually owned or leased...and of course with several others.

I would take $1,500 and buy new clothes, stands, sticks, boots, etc.

I would then take $3,000 for a trip to Iowa and $3,000 for a trip to Kansas. Bowhunting whitetails ofcourse.

RE: you just got $7500 .... how you going to spend it on bowhunting ?

I would get a new bow and accessories and lease me some hunting land also. That would be great to have my own property for hunting.

Moose hunt Alaska.

Since I live on the Ill./Iowa border I would NOT spend it on Whitetail & having Bowhunted many biggame animals over the years I would probably go for a Moose/Caribou combo in Alaska or Newfoundland. The rest I would put away for my children . IF I "HAD" to spend it on Bowhunting I would take my son & 1 daughter on a once in a lifetime Bowhunt of their choice.

1. Scent Blocker suits, both warm and cold weather.
2. Silent Suede bibs from Cabela's
3. Guided elk hunt in Arizona, maybe New Mexico.

I would take my father on a guided elk hunt. I have always wanted to do this. I will never have enough money to do it with.

Other than updating a few small things as far as gear goes, most of the money would be spent on a good Psychiatrist to get over this stinkin' target panic!!!!!!!!

Before anybody goes there, I shoot fingers. A back tension release isn't gonna help me much.

RE: you just got $7500 .... how you going to spend it on bowhunting ?

Where do you guys find land for $7500 to buy ?? Even in Arkansas that won't get you but maybe 15-20 acres ???

If I had to book something today, I'd try for a moose/caribou hunt I think. I've done elk, I've done mulies and whtietails and antelope. I'd dearly love a sheep hunt but even $7500 won't buy one of those.

In the continental US I'd probably buy 2 high dollar landowner tags for a mule deer and one for an elk. A big muley has always been a goal and who wouldn't like to hunt big bugling elk on private range, undisturbed ?

Oh, I'd also try to squeeze in a a bison hunt. Lots of great meat, hide and horns there and the prices is relatively cheap (about like buying pork, cheaper than buying beef at the store for sure !)

I would only be able to buy a couple acres of land with that, so I would go on a guided hunt in Saskatchewan fo MONSTER WHITETEAILS!:D

It would be a toss up between a guided elk hunt in the rockies by horseback or going after those humongous saskatchewan bucks.

Well, the first thing i would probably do is buy some new camo clothing and a few more accesories for my bow.Second i would probably go on a guided whitetail, elk combo in alberta. If i have any money left i would buy my own bow-press so i can tune my own bow with some more accesories:)

I would use it and more to put the downpayment down with my hunting buddies on as much GOOD land as we could buy.

It's the gift that keeps on givin' ;)

Maybe a south Texas deer hunt or a guided New Mexico Elk hunt. Or a Canadian Bear Hunt or a Milk River Bowhunt. So many choices...so few dollars.[:o]

Wow.....decisions decisions.

Don't need any new gear that's for sure. (did I say that?)

The temptation is to go on that "Once in a Lifetime" trip......Alaska multi species?

Naaaaaa.:D

#1 I think I'd do a good Caribou bowhunt (2 bulls) and sneak in some Brook Trout fishing.in Quebec or Labrador etc. $3500ish?

#2 Go on that Pronghorn hunt my buddy Frank did in Wyoming......
#3 Pay 2 years of the lease I'm on in Illinois.

Maybe have enough leftover to get a few mounts done?

I really want to do a real good bow Caribou hunt. That's #1

I'd book a moose hunt! I'd love to make it a New Foundland moose hunt , but in reality I'd have to make it a cheaper Ontario moose hunt so I'd have enough left over for my security deposit and first months rent for my new apartment when my wife finds out I blew $7500 on hunting instead of paying bills.

For one I don't know if I will be physically able to go on an elk hunt when I'm 65 and two I don't know if I'll live that long anyway. Sometimes you need to live for the moment;)

I would go on a caribou hunt in the Northwest territories and a guided antelope hunt in Wyoming. I have enough equipment, but if I had any left over I would save it for the taxadermist if I was lucky enought to get a big one or two.

I'd have to choose between taking that long awaited elk hunting trip, an African bowhunting safari, an Alaska trip or add it to my savings for the future purchase of hunting land.
