Good point. I had not considered that....and they also have that oily coating over their feathers to repel water. This could be an issue of KE/momentum though I would have no idea where to start in terms of estimating.

I would have to say no considering the feathers. They will act as protection. The blades will need to be edged back like a broadhead and not straight out so they slice instead of cut. You can't get through feathers by cutting them, you need to slice.

For example, take a pillow and a sharp knife. Put the knife straight out, like the blades on the gobbler guillotine, and hit the sharp side against the pillow. Then take it and then slice at the pillow's end with an angle on the knife. The slicing will cut it but the hit won't. The blades need to be at an angle in order to kill the goose.

Don't really do that it is an example.:D

wow i got a lot of different opinion on this. i would have shot at them on the land not in the water. there is a short strip of beach that the are always on!;) so that is my chance. ill let everyone kno what happens this fall.

Squirrel you aren't going to kill them. You will just wound them so don't try it. You aren't shooting a bow that is very powerful and you have plenty of feathers to get through. Don't do it.

I was going to suggest that. How close will you shoot? I would suggest some #4 STEEL shot. You need steel incase you didn't know. Also what choke?

o yea thats right lol i will get some steel shot instead of lead shot. i am using a modified choke. and my shots will be about 25 yards and under. i patterned it for turkey this way. i could hit 30 yards but i would have to compensate.

How many pellets you get in at 25 yards. Draw a target about the size of a goose and check. Do you have a bigger gun like a 12 gauge?

im 12 years old i cant handle a 12 yet.... but then again i never tried it.
