Whackmaster I can not suggest a guide, but I will give you a word of advice, hunt as far away from Denver as possible, Mulies in that area are far smaller than the Northern part of the state. The ones I saw were no bigger than whitetail in Eastern Va. I know there are some BIG ones in the Northern part of Colorado. Good luck.

Whackmaster..I'm going to CO. this year for first time this year, I 've found a outfitter in western Colorado, that seems super. And great price, which isn't everything but it helps right? E-mail me and I'll give you their No.# .

I havn't hunted Colorado, but have heard some real horror stories on the net of hunters being so out of shape that they couldn't hunt the high altitude. I recommend getting in real good shape by hiking your mtns with a heavy pack and the boots you plan on wearing. Also, unless you plan on hunting colorado from a tree, I'd suggest you get some ground hunting and shooting under your belt before heading that way.

Wahya has some good advice. I was there in 91 and my legs wore completely out the first couple days sliding along the small stone underfoot, traversing the hills at 8000 feet. Try to go a day or so early and do some hiking to get your lungs used to it also.

Ooh boy. I went to Colorado last fall. I run every morning 2 miles. I concider myself physically fit. The first 2 days at 11,000 feet, I wished I could die. GO EARLY! your body needs to adjust to the alt. I blanked on the hunt. Stay away from Denver!

You're a crackhead. I live and hunt mulies within 1/2 an hour of downtown denver, Unit 29, public land. As a matter of fact you can see denver from where i shot my mulie buck from this year. Where i hunt there are some of the biggest mulies in the state. I even missed a possible 30+ inch buck this year. I did connect with a 24 3/4 incher this year though,(5x5). So you should know what you are talking about before you type it. You probably didn't even get off the highway when you saw your "bucks", Did you? And if what you said is the case you must have a bunch of WORLD CLASS whitetails in virginia.

I aint telling! I only had an out of state elk tag when I was just north of Leadville on public land. I will tell you that I plan to hunt for muleys this year from the same campsite. But you should go some where else besides that. heh noting to see there.
