I shot this gobbler on 4/15/04. I got some awesome video footage.

I shot him at around 7....yrds! It was awesome!

A friend and I were in the blind and he had already killed his at 7am. We had been calling and had this one gobbling and he shut up. He was coming, but he never showed. Finally at 8am, my buddy said "there he is". He was coming to the decoy in full strut at 20 yrds. I couldn't see him because he was coming straight in between 2 of my shooting windows. He came to 7 yrds and finally moved into a window and THWACK. All over.

He was just the ave. 2 yr old for IA. 10" beard, 3/4" spurs, 23#, tons of excitment! :D

I shot him with a Miniblaster 4L w/ pathfinder tip installed. I shot him full strut facing away and got about 10" pen. I am now shooting my sidewinders. This guy went about 60 yrds and died.

Man, it must really suck having to hunt in Iowa ever year where the turkey and deer are so few and small. :)

On a serious note, awesome bird. Congratulations! My cousin just took a nice 19 lb Tom in Rose Hill, Iowa. Are you anywhere near there? I deer hunt up there whenever I get selected in the lottery.
