Restoring faded camo...isn't there a detergent of some kind out there?
 

I remember seeing a product on the market that helped rejuvinate faded camo...does anyone know what I am referring to? My treestand pads are in need of some help.

Not to my knowledge. If their was, my every day wear would have gotten dosages long ago.;)

Camo Restore. Can't vouch for the product, never tried it. It is usually advertised on the Outdoor Channel.

I tried the Camo restore, and had marginal results to say the least. About all it did was darken the fabric a little.

Fading means the various colors of dye that the design is comprised of is depleted (faded). I cannot think of any process that could rejuvenate each color. Any re-dyeing would simply apply one color shade to the entire garment. Probably in a shade of flat green and gray or charcoal gray.

In my terrain the more faded the better. Alot of camo is way to dark to blend in. We have alot of aspen meadows with grasses, canyons filled with buck brush and some open country. The only time dark camo benefits me is in the heavy timber.

I'm still waiting on the medium and light grey camo pattern to come out. I haven't seen it yet if it is. Deer blend in perfect on the sides of canyons and they are not in the least having a dark shades of colors.

I'm sure dark camos work perfect in areas back east in heavy timber.

I'm pretty sure that once fabric fades it won't come back.

I always turn my camo inside out when I wash it. I was tols that it helps reduce the fading. I don't know if works or not but I do it since it really takes no effort, and maybe it actually does help. Just a thought.
