What are your pins set at?
Just wondering what everyone sets their pins at (mainly for hunting). I have 5 pins and I can't decide what to put them at. I was thinking 20, 25, 30, 35, 40. Any suggestions? I will be hunting off the ground and a treestand. I wouldn't shoot anything more than 45 yards.

RE: What are your pins set at?
That seems like a lot of pins to cover such a short amount of yardage. I currently have three pins set for 20, 30, and 40 yards. Do you have lots of gap between the pins when you have the set for ten yard increments?

RE: What are your pins set at?
You always want a pin at your max yardage. I have a 20,30,40,45,50 i will not shot a animal past 50 for many reason. If i was you i would have a 20, 30, 40 and a 45. Too many pins can be confusing, especially when excited. It what ever you like.

RE: What are your pins set at?
20, 40, 60, gonna throw an 80 on there.
10 yard gap was too narrow for my like. The pins kind of blurred together, so I went to 20 yrd gaps and I like it.:) All I really need for hunting is the 20yd pin. The others are just for fun. |
RE: What are your pins set at?
For hunting = 3 pins - 20 30 40 yds
For practice = 1 pin - 10 - 70 yds in 5 yrd increment settings |

RE: What are your pins set at?
I used to shoot one pin at 25 yds but my new sight (vbg 3 ring trapper came with 3 pins. I removed one of the pins and am currently shooting 1 pin at 25 yds and the other at 40 yds. I'm planning to get set up with one pin at 30yds once I get my new arrows but I'll have to wait and see how they fly first.
