Good one for Arther P and others..
Ok..here's a different spin for Arthur P and other Traditional guys. LOL Most things posted by trad. guys always include something about being a purest and "why the heck do you need all that crap" attitude. So here it is...what if you couldn't use your recurve/longbow and 2lb arrows you fling out there?? :D :D Would you guys still hunt? ;) I know bow hunting would probably become to easy and boring for you guys, but....

RE: Good one for Arther P and others..
I would think for MOST traditionals the love of bowhunting is their number one priority, the choice of weapon is secondary.

RE: Good one for Arther P and others..
If I couldn't hunt with traditional equipment.... Boy, Stumpie, that's a tough one. Which of the 7 compounds in my house would go hunting? Well, it'd be the ProTec. It's the only compound I've got that hasn't been to the woods yet.
Just because I PREFER traditional doesn't mean you are free to lump me in with the purist bozos. Yeah, I believe in keeping hunting rigs stripped to bare bones. Yeah, when I see someone leave the truck for a morning hunt, packing enough stuff for a 30-day polar expediction, I have to say 'why the heck does anyone need all that crap.' It doesn't take a traditionalist to recognize stupidity. |
RE: Good one for Arther P and others..
Ok I admit the word "purist" might be a little too far over the edge. Maybe a bit drastic. :D Those guys are cut from a totally different mold. I do agree that there is more stuff a guy can carry with them out to the woods that is completely unneeded. I do it myself. When I go, I have a backpack full of junk. Do I need it? Probably no, but when there's nothing going on....all the junk just passes a little time when your messin with it. ;)
Good hunting.. |

RE: Good one for Arther P and others..
That question is valid regardless of what type of bow one shoots. There are bowhunters, and there are the "Gucci" shooters. |

I think Gucci shooters buy everything expensive and think they're better. Cough Cough Mathew's Cough.;)

There are bowhunters, and there are the "Gucci" shooters. Also, does this have anything to do with the amount of game/trophy's taken? |
RE: Good one for Arther P and others..
No more dressing for sucess. :D ;) No more need for camo test results, new equipment overviews, what's the best release..rest..sight..quiver..string..bow..boot..a rrow..broadhead..knife. No need for any of them. Don't want to be a "Gucci" hunter and buy some new technology. ;) Just because one wants to spend a bunch of cash on what some would say as "unneeded" things doesn't mean a hill of beans to me. If you got $100 or $200 burnin a hole in your pocket...go and spend it.
