Squirrels and birds ?

Should we as hunters be careful not to busted by other animals? Do they alert the deer with noises? Can someone elaborate on this. I always feel like I want to swat at the squirrels when they climb up my tree, Is this a mistake if I do?

I would imagine they alert our game but you can use them to practice. If they don't notice you there then chances are the deer won't notice you either.

RE: Squirrels and birds ?

In the woods I am always getting busted by squirrels, crows, and a lot of small birds. This happens mostly in the daylight when walking out of stand in the morning or returning to my evening stand. I think the biggest problem I have is getting to my stand in the morning when deer are bedded in a different area every time, and the dry crunchy leaves dont help any.
