Pic of string loop. Does it need to be shorter?

The length looks O.K.
I would however recommend a tied in nock to get those big string loop nots from pinching the arrow.
I tie a big not under the arrow - this gets my release head more inline with the arrow. Draw back and look at your release head - It will be above the arrow with a loop like that. The upper knot keeps the loop knot away.
I get zero pinch and great flight.

With your caliper, you need a little more length than with a hook. With my Winn loop hook release, I can use a 4-1/8" string (that includes a little serving on each side of the nock), although you'll need to stretch it in a bit.

I do basically the same thing as RA with good results. To the original question....the loop does not look "too long" though as RA stated you might consider giving yourself some space for the potential nock pinch issue.

Man RA, just when I think I have something figured out I learn something new- again.
That looks and sounds like a great Idea. I will give it a whirl on my new bow.

YUP... if you give the loop a little more room so it's not pinching your nock you will beable to let down without the arrow coming off the string.

If you just tied that on, and havnt shot with it yet, then its perfect. Once you shoot a little it will stretch out enough to give you room. If its to long at first, and then stretches, you will be drawing to far. Other than that it looks pretty good.
