6' even and 29" draw with a d loop and long release...yes I have monkey arms.

I am 5'8" and shoot right at 27 1/4" depending on the bow. It really has nothing to do with the length of the release or anything else. All a longer release does is make you stretch out farther which is what you are trying to eliminate withthe bow set properly. That's one reason I don't use caliper style releases. Add a string loop and yur WAY out there.
