portable don't do it. I had a nice 10 pt. mounted about 8 or 9 years ago and had about 2" of of one brow tine broke off. I had the taxidermist fix it to match the other. After all these years I wish I hadn't had it done. I now agree with the others those oddities add character. ONLY MY TAXIDERMIST AND I KNOW FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Save your money and shoot a bigger deer next year.

I agree that the broken tine add's character'but my feeling's are mixed I believe that the reason we mount these animal's is simply to show how beautiful they are . But when your talking a few inches why not fix it as you said your not adding point's you just want to show this buck in his natural beauty. I would have no problem with your fixing him to his natural state . if it was a small chip or tip then I think I would leave it as it is.

i have seen some that hav been fixed and they are noticeable, i would leave it as it is but if you get it fixed make sure you taxi is a real good one. i saw a mount about 2 months ago that had a broken tine and he got a guy to try to fix it, it just didnt look natural, it's hard to get the color to match right up, or so i have been told.

I've got two mounts that were fixed and nobody besides me and the taxidermist could tell which ones were fixed.

The last was a nice 10pt that I watched all summer long and had him within 60yds twice during bow season with all of his tines intact. When I finally harvested him I didn't notice until I walked up to him that he had busted one of his brow tines in a fight. I had the brow tine fixed to the way he was. I'm glad I did!

I think that if that's the way he was when you harvested him, let him stay as is...

Leave it as is .It adds character . I shot a 9 point that I claimed as a 7 as two tines were broken . Big deal !
