Arrow Question (spine)

Alright guys, I am thinking of getting ICS 500's when I get my new arrows (for a few more fps). I am shooting 400's now. Do you think they will fly alright? I have a 60# (61.5) Extreme and a 28.5" draw. My arrows are around 27". I have looked at a couple of the charts at work and 500's are right about at the line. Just curious if you guys would know or if you have tried it. Thanks for the info. :)

Mike

P.S. I will be shooting a drop-away.

P.S.

I don't know too much about the new Axis arrow. Any suggestions on which size axis would work best in this set up.

I wouldnt try the 500s, maybe for 3D, but even then thats pretty light in spine. One thing you could do, is shorten the arrow length, then use the 500s, but i would stay with 400s with that set.

Anyone else have any comments on which beman or axis to use?

I'd stick with the 400's also. Even if the ICSH 500's would spine out right for you, which I doubt, you'd only be saving some 20 grains on shaft weight. Not enough to change your trajectory one whit.

Techy! I've heard lots of good thing's about the Axis s/t's and I'm definetly going to give them a try myself. If you look through some of the past post's in here you'll find some good view's on them. The people talking about them are the best, who know what they're talking about. Authur P is one of them, he's got lot's of good info and will help you out on this . I'm not the best with spline, so I listen to these guy's on these topic's. I have questioned these arrow's and spline's with these guy's before and the 400's are highly recommended.I'm shooting a 60# 2004 Patriot Dually with 29" draw and these are the one's they recommended for me as well.

I used the ics hunters 500 last year out of a hoyt set at 57 lbs. Could NOT get the thing to tune or shoot well, so I went with 400's and the problem was solved.
