just tried luminocks !
 

I was at the range last night showing a new guy how to shoot when the rangemaster comes over and asks if I've ever tried the luminocks. So, he handed me an arrow loaded with one, and I launched it downrange.

HOLY COW !! That is some SERIOUS visibility ! Really bright ! ... and they stay lit for 40 hours ?!
At $10 each, I probably won't outfit my entire quiver with them, but WOW !
And I heard they are only about twice as heavy as regular nocks, not bad.


Before we know it, we're going to have arrows with homing beacons built in to them.

Do you happen to know which brand he had? Last year I shot Tracer products lighted nocks in my ACC 3/60s but I found out they weighed in at a healthy 50 grains. This year I'm trying the Burt Coyote Lumenock. They advertise 22 grains added to your arrow. I'm not really concerned too much about that since the nocks that come in the Easton Lightspeeds weigh 13 grains, I'm only adding 18 grains to the weight of the arrow.

They are very cool when shooting them at dawn or dusk in the woods. There is no doubt about where your arrow went. I love them. BTW, you can pick up a set of the BC Lumenocks at Cableas for $24.99 for 3. They will fit most arrows on the market. I was told they won't work in my ACCs but I think with a little persuasion with an emory cloth I can get them to work.

I have the "ARCHERS FLAME " I had the luminocks but couldn't mount the magnet right. then I get the archers flame they don't use a magnet. I did get to use them last yr I could see the 3 misses I had and 1 hit, a pass though. misses are so easy to find. no more lost arrows. keep that in mind when figuring the cost. the $10 for the nock could save you a $20 arrow.

Double the weight of a regular nock? How is that affecting your FOC? It's gotta throw it off a good bit. With that said, is there nocks out there that are the same grain for practice purposes?
