AHHHHHHHH STUPID LITTLE BROTHER
I am so mad at my little brother. I went to go grab my arrows and he pulled my bow back, 58 lbs. He got it to 1 inch and decided it would be cool to let it go.[:@][:@] I hear a CRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCKKKKKKK. I look back and see my brother holding my bow. I am so P!ssed.[:@] I don't know if I should put some cash in it or trash it. How much does it cost to fix? Do you think it is broken. I can't see any visible cracks and can't get to the archery shop. What should I do? Sorry just had to vent A LOT!!

RE: AHHHHHHHH STUPID LITTLE BROTHER
well after you get it fixed, Keep your weapons locked up and out of reach of kids.

RE: AHHHHHHHH STUPID LITTLE BROTHER
Are you saying that he only got it pulled back one inch? If so more than likely your bow is fine. Now if he got it pulled all the way back and only let it down an inch before letting it go, then that's a different story.

RE: AHHHHHHHH STUPID LITTLE BROTHER
Do I even need it to be checked out. I cannot see any visible damage.

RE: AHHHHHHHH STUPID LITTLE BROTHER
Did he pull it all the way back or did he only pull it back an inch before letting it go? I can't tell from your post.
|
RE: AHHHHHHHH STUPID LITTLE BROTHER
Way back then upon return he says that he let it go from about an inch. I don't think so cause it sounded like a .22.

RE: AHHHHHHHH STUPID LITTLE BROTHER
Then I'd probably take it and have it looked at. At least it was on the way down when it happened. I dry fired one of the High Country all carbon bows about 2 years ago and it turned out to be fine.

RE: AHHHHHHHH STUPID LITTLE BROTHER
I would get it checked out to be on the safe side. Needless to say, be sure to keep that weapon out of reach of kids. Glad he wasn't hurt though.

RE: AHHHHHHHH STUPID LITTLE BROTHER
The smartest thing to do would be take it down to your local pro shop and get her checked out as thats the worst thing that can happen to a bow...

RE: AHHHHHHHH STUPID LITTLE BROTHER
And cable lock the bow the next time.:D

RE: AHHHHHHHH STUPID LITTLE BROTHER
someone should put it in a press and check it out for bent axles, broken string fibre, bent cam, cracked limbs etc.
Most bows can easily handle being dry fired, but you never know. --Bob |
RE: AHHHHHHHH STUPID LITTLE BROTHER
You will always be asking yourself on every arrow that is not grouping with the other arrows--Hmmm I wonder since it was dryfired if--??????????? To ease your mind, you will probably will have to get another bow....Keep us posted, and good luck in whatever you choose to do, as it is a costly mistake, I know because a friend of mine dryfired my compound bow quite a few years back and it was'nt a pretty sight with it laying on the ground in a tangled mess!!!

RE: AHHHHHHHH STUPID LITTLE BROTHER
That happen's my friend ,I've seen bow's dryfired and had no problem's but when you tear them down you can find your axle's bent .I would recommend you have it checked just to be on the safe side .I'm very surprised that your cables and string's didn't explode I've done this myself and had to learn the hard way .
