Default Speaking of string loops.....

I for the first time had a string loop installed on my Patriot since I am a little longer than a 30" draw length. Has anyone ever had one of these thing pull loose and had your hand bust you in the mouth or nose? I was looking at mine earlier and it sure doesn't have much to keep it from doing so. []

Just curious.

In three or four years of shooting with one I have to say I have never had on slip on me, but I will agree that it looks like it could happen somehow.

I had it happen a few years back when I first tried one. It really sucks when you smack yourself in the mouth. I haven't had any problems since I learned to tie them correctly.

In ~four years of using them I had one knot come loose.
Luckily my neighbors weren't home I could retrieve my arrow from their backyard[&o] .

Just make sure when your drawing in a suburban neighborhood, you draw aiming at the target.

Watch the burnt balls holding the knot secure. A little strategically placed super glue wouldn't hurt either.

I have never had a string loop slip through on me but I have lost a few arrows because it wore down and freyed a little therfore being too thin for my release aid to grip around it[:@]. But I just replaced it and bobs your uncle she's all sweet.

Do you melt the ends of the cord and flaten them out so they are even less likely to slip through?

I have yet to have a problem. If tied properly when pressure is applied while pulling the string back the knots will actually thighten up so this shouldn't be an issue. It is a little unnerveing to see how little extra string is left after the knot is tied. looks like it should pulll right out.
