This is the list that I have for this years moderators cup enterants. It is time to get your entries into IL_BOW_MAN and as soon as we have all the entries, I will set up this poll and we can vote for the moderators cup viewers choice and youth hunter of the year award. We have only received a couple of entries so far this year, so hurry up and get yours in.

I'm new to this sight so I dont have a clue about what you are talking about.

For those of you that do not know what the moderators cup is, it is a contest that we have been putting on for a few years to award enterants for the largest whitetail buck, viewers choice award for a bow killed animal and we recently added a youth hunter of the year award. This year we had the above listed people enter into the competition, which consists of a $5 entry fee. The money and entries are sent to me, and IL_BOW_MAN has been kind enough to set up the websight each year to post the pictures and information of the hunter and his trophy. At the end of the season, everybody gets their photos and information in, and I set up a poll to start the voting for the viewers choice award and youth hunter award. The largest buck is awarded as well.

With the proceeds from the entry fees, I have trophies made and mail them out to the winners. The entry deadline for animals is usually the last day of January, but I had inadvertantly let this slide this year and had not followed up on it, so we are trying to get everybody to send in their photos now so we can get this going. The rules are simple, and we go on a honosty system, but if somebody shows a small 8 point and says he scores 220, we'll question that some. All in all it is just good fun set up by the members of the bowhunting board. Originally it was called the moderators cup, so we have kept the name the same, but this competition has no direct relationship to the moderators of this site, or the owners of this site. It was set up by members for members.

Next years moderators cup should start around the end of August, and hopefully we will keep this thing going for another year.

Cody, the mod cup is a little friendly competition amongst some guys in the bowhunting forum. They sent in a small donation to cover costs of the trophies and there area couple of categories to enter. Last years was biggest buck and viewers choice. This year was a little different, but I can't remember exactly they were.

I was skunked this year in archery season, so cross me off the list.
But next year, watchout!!!!

Sounds like alot of fun. All I bagged with my bow this year was a tick infested coyote. But I always like to see what other hunters have shot.

I only killed a small doe this year with my bow, i do have video of my 8 year old son killing his first deer with a gun

I am new to this game so i have a few questions. Does it have to be a bow killed animal? Does it have to be a deer or can it be another big game animal? What is classified as youth?

Hiawatha, yes, this is a bowhunting only competition. There are three catagories. Largest whitetail buck, viewers choice and youth hunter awards. The viewers choice can be any animal, big or small game. You can win with a button buck if people vote for you to win. Usually the story that goes along with the hunt is more appealing than the animal that you harvested, which could win you the viewers choice. We definately want as much information about the hunt as possible.

Youth is just that, we don't have a defined age. Last year I think the guy that won it was 14 years old, this year, well, it's all up for grabs.

I am 15 years old and i bagged an asortment of animals with my bow .. such as .. Rabbit , squirrl, chipmonk and other stuff like that ... but i shot my first buck this year the first one i ever shot at and drop him dead ... ( spined him [:@] ) haha and then i shot him agian .. u cant let him suffer .... but thats about it ... but i won a few local ibo shoots .. try'n to go big this year !
