Can't get my new Patriot to group
 

These are a group that I shot this morning at 20 and 30 yards. I only use one sight pin and from the looks of it, I'll be fine at least to between 33-35 yards. These arrows weigh 409 grains and are shooting at 299 fps.

Those are terrible groups;) IMO with groups like that you should give up shooting:eek:

Yeah Aussie, I've already got a fletching job ahead of me. It basically destroyed my feathers, but they will still shoot. That's why I love feathers. :)

Only problem is they make a wee bit of noise now. [8D]

I wish mine wouldn't group like that, I've only got about 100 shots through it in my basement and I've already wrecked 3 arrows, one thing I did notice is that some of my arrows are a bear to pull from my bag target, I think they're melting the material inside. I shot some last night after work and left them until this a.m. and they pulled right out. Go figure.

What's the problem? [:D When I shoot I have to back up 28" every shot to maintain 20 yards. I shoot a robin hood then back up. The same thing happens till I get my arrows. LOL

I think I might have a solution to your problem!
Are you maybe standing on your head?
Do you have your eyes crossed?
maybe you should try standing a little closer.
If not I'll give you $100.00 for it just so you won't be tormented by it.

I am gonna see how I like the one pin routine with my Patriot this year. I figure it will keep me in the zone out past 30 yards which is farther then I would ever shoot so what the heck..........I do like the other pins for longer shots in the yard though. Nothing like shooting for awhile at 50+ yards and then coming in to 20 [:o] Looks like 2 feet!!!

Yeah, I know. I was really wanting to see how much the groups opened up at 30 yards vs 20. Doesn't seem to be a problem there. Fletchings are cheap anyway. ;)

I have tried many time to shoot multiple pins and I just can't do it. Maybe it goes back to when I used to shoot 3D competitively. I always used a Toxonics adjustable with a one pin scope. Besides, like you I don't typically take shots beyond 30 yards anyway, so I see no reason to clutter up the sight window with all those pins. Much less to think about at that moment of truth. If I can shoot this setup out to 35 yards with one pin then that's more than adequate for me.
