Default Peep Alignment

On my Mathews LX, the peep sight keeps twisting. When at full draw I sometimes have trouble seeing my target and when I can, my arrow hits off my mark by 2 to 3 inches. Add that to my group shot of 2 to 3 inches - with this in mind my arrows sometimes hit 6 inches of my mark. Imagine shooting a deer and it drops 6 inches with the problem I am having. I use to use the self alignment peeps, but in my opinion there was to much "twap" of a sound after my shot (tubing hitting the string). I went to my pro shop and changed peeps from being held by a group of 3 strings to 2 and at times it still roatates to the point that when I look into it, the string is right in the middle. I really want to avoid the self alignment peep. Any suggetions would be helpful.

Do you still have the factory string on your bow? If you do change to a winners choice or other comperable custom string and it should take care of the problem.

I totally agree with Mez on this.

The Zebra strings are the worst I have come across for creep.

Get a good quality string and put on then install the peep after the string has been shot in.

Or be like me and do away with the peep altogether you really dont need it.

I've had alot worse strings than the zebra twists! Take your bow to the proshop and tell them whats wrong. They'll put in in a press and twist your string to get your rotation perfect.

Check out VaporTrailArchery.com custom strings. Have not ordered one
yet myself but from what I have read they are top notch strings. Actually
I just bought a Mathews Ovation and my factory string did roatate some
but is set now and does not rotate anymore. The bow has about 100
shots through it.

I went Monday night to my pro shop and they did twist the string to compensate for the turning. I just hace to make sure the peep is inline before I draw.

Thanks for the replies and help.

On my Mathews LX, the peep sight keeps twisting
twisting is O.K.

It just has to twist to the right spot. On any string you buy you need to adjust and re adjust the peep to get it correct.

Your bow shop should be able to get it set up correct

I would agree. However, if you do adjust it and it continues to twist then the string is definitely issue. At that point I would replace it as suggested above.

My only advice is don't use a cheap bow press while adjusting your peep...............it makes your finger hurt.
