IMO - His forearm is prefect, but on his drawing arm, his elbow is a bit too high. Yes, if he lowers his elbow a bit, it will be more in line with his shoulders, forearm, and arrow.

I agree about the elbow, but have a question of my own. I truly know VERY little about form, have never had anyone analyze or comment on mine, and am resonably sure mine probably needs vast improvement. That said, why do I get the impression that he's stretched out, or reaching/drawing too long?? Something just looks wrong to me-first impression. Maybe my form is so bad, I dont know what good form looks like!!(no joke!)

Ok here goes, First I will start with the elbow that everyone thinks is to high. It's not high actually, and raising your elbow like this actually helps to create back tension, when shooting this style of archery or any style for that matter you don't want any tension in your arms or deltoids. This can cause variances in the way the body reacts shot after shot, and can cause great in accuracy. His drawing elbow is high, because he is rotating his shoulder during draw Im pretty sure, this is how I was taught to draw for olympic style, even though I need to do it more often then I do. What the rotation does, is slowly drives the shoulderblade towards the spine, creating a very stable platform for back tension, and a clean release. His body alignment is very good with a smooth "T" form.
Bow arm shoulder is tucked away nicely ( My coaches tell me to use the weight of drawing my bow to slide my shoulder blade for the bow arm towards my spine). This allows your deltoid to tuck into your body, and takes the pressure of all of those small stringy mucscles in the deltoid. The only thing that might bother me looking at this form, is this guys front arm looks over extended, when in fact, Im sure its not. "He has what my coach Dianne named, the sticky outty elbow". I asked her about it at 98 nationals when Justin Huish came to shoot from the states, his elbow looked double jointed, and I said for an olympic gold medalist, he sure doesn't have good form in his front arm. I didn't realize that some people have this and some do not. That is all my comments for now, I was just trying to give people a representation of the movement of the muscles and bones during a shot. Good shooting and please comment on these pictures.
Remember Im not a coach although I will be picking up my level one when I can.
Any info I have talked about is handed to me from higher beings. ahaha. (My coaches).

Excellent pics! I wish there was one showing his front side too so we could see the bend in his bow arm. It's hard to tell in the pics but I'm sure he has it bent. I thought the draw elbow looked a little high, but then I realized my elbow is that high too until my letoff kicks in and I relax it. The only difference is that guy could probably kick my but in shooting. Thanks for the post.
