Whenever it looks dry, which is typically every 400-500 shots.

Dave, I've never understood how anybody could claim to be a COF if they weren't a recurve shooter. Have at it, bud! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

If you've ever had a string break on your compound and you are not torn up or handicapped for life then you are a lucky lucky person.

Wax lightly after every session. Work the wax into the string by rubbing with finger and thumb. Wax all exposed string (non served).

Change strings (and cables) when you notice wear regardless of how slight you might think the wear is.

A string that breaks while you are at full draw or in the process of drawing will definitely affect you for life.

After that last post of mine - I took my bow to the pro - I don't trust even frayed servins. He asked me where my helmet is? You guys got something going on I don't know about?:D

By the by I shoot a PSE Stingray 62 lbs 28 inch draw. I attempt to shoot a minimum of 100 arrows a day. Anyway the pro says I should get at least 20k shots before a string change. At this rate I'll be throwing 150 bucks a year into the pro kitty. What say ye?:eek:

I was told by my pro to wax my string every time I use it even if I only take a couple of shots. I don't think that you can over wax. Sometimes I wax my string for the heck of it.

My archery shop said after every 100 shots.

I wax mine after every time I shoot. Or every eight days if I didn't get to shoot on weekend.
