Gound Blinds "Shoot Through Mesh" ???
Has anyone ever harvested a deer with their bow using these new "Shoot Through Mesh" Windows? I have seen some of the blind mfgs video's of guys using these blinds but not a single animal was taken shooting through the mess..... All the shots were taken through an open window.
I want to buy a blind but not sure I want to fork out the big bucks for one with these windows if you can't shoot through them. |

I have yet to do it but two hunting buddies of mine have taken antelope through the mesh. I was present both times and it did not affect arrow flight at all. Both taken about 25 yards and both hit in the vitals. It worked great.

RE: Gound Blinds "Shoot Through Mesh" ???
I don't use my blind for whitetails here at home as I
prefer to use treestands, but I've had good success out west. Only way we could get deer to come close enough for a shot was to really brush up our blinds and use the shoot-thru netting(Double Bulls'). We've taken animals with 100 gr. T-heads, Wasp SST's, and Rocket Steelhead's - these days we only use the Steelheads. With the netting pulled & pinned tight, and our bows paper tuned, we've never had a problem. I've actually stood on a chair behind the blind and watched my partner shoot from inside...arrow flight was perfect. It took us a couple of years of shooting fixed blades before we tried the Rocket SH's at camp during lunch one day... used them ever since. Everyone who is considering hunting with the shoot- thru netting needs to practice with it first. If there is a problem, find it in camp...not in the woods:). I would also recommend staying away from the mechanicals with "wings" on the end of the blades to help them open, like Spitfires and Hammerheads. These types will catch on the netting and affect arrow flight[:@]. Two Beards |

I have seen shows where hunters, bow and gun (why with gun i dont know) through those mesh things but i would be iffy to do it myself. I dont know if it would block your view at an critical moment or not but reason i woudl be iffy about it is just because the possibility that the arrow would get caught or get fling back into the blind itself. Just my two cents.

I just purchased a DoubleBull T2. There is no way an arrow being shot out of a bow can get caught in the netting or have it thrown back at you.
My buddy has taken numerous turkey and deer out of his blind without any problems. He even video taped a couple. That's the reason I bought mine. I could see how easy it was. Don't let the mesh fool you. It won't effect the arrow. |

I have had a T2 for several years and have taken a couple of turkeys by shooting through the mesh. I also practiced shooting through the mesh several shots prior to hunting with it and it works great. I have shot muzzys through mine but have friends that have great luck with Gold Tip expandables also. Good luck.
