Briefly describe how you anchor.
I am using a Armstrong Pro Caliper (Cobra) and a rope loop but I use the same method
for my Cobra wrist strap. I sink my first knuckle into the indention behind the corner of my jawbone directly under my ear, kindof pushing my lower ear lobe forward out of the way. The length of my release is adjusted so that the string crosses the very corner of my mouth. I then touch the tip of my hose to the string. When I used to shoot fingers, I just went with my index finger in the corner of my mouth, and again the tip of my nose on the string. I’ve never been coached and was just wondering what the different methods are. Thanks. |

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
I don't have the best of forms, but I put a kisser button in the corner of my mouth, string on tip of nose and I feel my thumb against my neck. I also don't use a peep sight for hunting. Hate em for hunting!

same as cougar

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
i use a scott mongoose, anchor same as you chief

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
I use a Cobra caliper release. I place my thumb under the side of my chin and my kisser button touches the tip of my nose. Sounds strange, but it works well for me.

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
Yall ain't makin much sense to me.The question asked is briefly describe how you anchor. Well I take my three point anchor and drop (don't throw) it over the side of your boat. Let it settle into the bottom of lake, river etc, etc. Then tie it off to the cleat on the bow not the stern but the bow and then you can fish like crazy. Yall are talking about Cobra's and Mongooses and all it just don't make any sense to me. Hope you all don't mind me being a little silly..<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>:)

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
I use a kisser button and put it to the corner of my mouth,it seems to give me the same anchor point every time.
|
RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
I stick my index finger's knuckle in my ear and it lines everything up. String touches the side of the tip of my nose(I've got a big head).
|
RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
I use a finger release. I use a kisser buttonat the corner of my mouth and the thumb of my drawing hand at the side af my neck. Having my thumb hooked at the side of my neck keeps me from plucking the bowstring, as well as serving as an anchor point.

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
I grab hold of the sheets with both hands real tight and bury the top of my head into the headboard and then...ooops, I was still on that Tiffany post...sorry. I may be unorthodox but I slightly open my mouth and anchor one of the veins in the corner of my mouth and put my thumb behind my neck. I have the vein in the same spot and my thumb on the same spot every time...double anchor.

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
wolfen and I are very similar, I to anchor a vein in the corner of my mouth and thumb knuckle on ear lobe.

I use a release. Kisser in the corner of my mouth. String on the tip of my nose, off to the right side. First knuckle under my ear lobe. I feel the vanes just under my lip.

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
So, BowTech Shooter, do you hold the rope under your ear or at the side of your mouth before you toss that anchor over? <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> I haven't found a comfortable anchor point that I like, but the index finger knuckle under the ear I'll have to try. Just ordered a Hind Site to get rid of that peep. Good thread. again.

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
I use fingers. The tip of index finger touches the corner of my mouth and my thumb lays up under my jaw.
Years ago I was taught to concentrate on keeping my thumb in place and just relax fingers to avoid plucking the string. |
RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
Touch the string to the tip of my nose, and let my release rest around my mouth. Pick a spot, and let fly!

I'm glad someone replied to my joke. I was starting to think I ticked everybody off. I like to have fun from time to time....<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
I shoot a caliper release, so I pull it back until the inside of my forefinger comes into contact with my lower jaw, then touch the tip of my nose to the string.

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
Fletch in the corner of my mouth.

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
Hey Bow Tech, I'm relieved. I thought you were serious. LOL. So, does your anchor work on Erie as well as inland lakes? <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
I shoot fingers and anchor under my chin. I draw and slide the chin plate under my chin, string touches my chin, lip, and centre on my nose draw...click..release. Mechanical release is always bone to joint contact with hand and jaw, and string touches nose and lips, with peep sight, unless im shooting fingers with a compound. Good shooting.

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
Kisser button in corner of mouth. When I look thru the peep the string should just barely touch my nose.

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
I was going to do the boat anchor joke when I first saw the topic. Oh well.

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
At full draw my forehand is open and relaxed with my index finger touching my stablizer. As for the draw my string touches the tip of my nose and the kisser is on the corner of my mouth
|
RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
well I guess what ever you are most acurate with. I use a fletchunter release and I put the index finger knuckle behind my jawbone. Use a kisser button on the corner of my mouth and put the bow sring in the middle of my nose with a peep sight and open your hand that holds your bow. Then you will have no excuses. Do what ever is comfortable for you.Carl Ellik

RE: Briefly describe how you anchor.
Fingers and three under, index finger at corner of my mouth, instinctive for hunting, and walking the string for target. This is an incredibly comfortable way to shoot, I don't know why more people don't shoot this way, it's awsome!
