The Best Hunting Books

In the off season I love to read hunting books. Here are my must-haves in no order:

Hunting Rutting Whitetails - Wensel
One Man's Whitetail - Wensel
Hunting Trophy Whitetails - Morris
Bowhunting's Whitetail Masters - Bertalan
Moonstruck! - Murray
In Pursuit of Trophy Whitetails - Rothhaar
Whitetail Magic - Rothhaar
The Art and Appreciation of Trophy Bowhunting - Kirschner
The Art and Science of Patterning Whitetails - Kroll & Wittington
Tree Stand Hunting - Brunner

They all have something special to offer and are outstanding reading. :)

Anyone have any other recommendations?

Seems like your missing some of the great ones to me!

How about the Benoits books like "Big Bucks the Benoit Way" and Greg Millers "Rub Line Secrets"

:) Nice reading list for the forlorn. Those books can keep the adrenaline flowing while we await the winter winding down and looking forward to shedding season and the search for Spring turkeys.

Some great off subject books are almost anything written by Peter Hathaway Capstick.

All of Greg Miller's books are pretty good
Drury's book is entertaining, can't remember the exact name but something to the effect "Whitetail Deer, a Lifetime of Lessons"
Become the Arrow by Ferguson
I have also read several books on tuning, I find those fun to read

Most other books seem to be too general for my liking, great for beginners, but not for experienced hunters. For the more experienced hunters, I like to narrow down my weeknesses and read about those subjects.

I also love reading Bowhunter, Bowhunting World, and Peterson's Bowhunting.

No hunter should be without a copy of John Trout's book Finding Wounded Deer; 2001; Woods-N-Water, Inc.and Bookspan.

Study it well and it will reward you with rich dividends . . . in recovered animals.
